6 months free Norton Internet Security 2010

My copy of PC Pro magazine arrived today and there’s a bargain inside…
A 180-day trial of Norton Internet Security (NIS) 2010 is included with this month’s cover disc. If you’re looking for a retail copy of NIS 2010 then you should be able buy a copy for less than £25 if you shop around. I’ve used Norton for years and this version is very good, it takes up very little of the computer’s memory and processor time.

There’s also a six-month trial subscription to Carbonite online file backup service included on the cover disc which I’m seriously thinking about signing-up to. Yes, I know that small, high-capacity, portable external hard drives are cheap and plentiful (I’ve got a couple myself) but, it takes a disciplined person to take the time to get them out the cupboard, connect it up and run the backup software. The idea that files are being backed-up while surfing, emailing or doing your online banking is great. I’ll post another journal entry when I’ve given this service a decent trial.
